I. STANDARD COMPETENCE
To comprehend the meaning within functional and monologue texts in form descriptive text, narrative text, and analytical exposition text to interact in daily context.

II. BASIC COMPETENCE
To respond the meaning within monologue texts using the various written language accurately, fluently, and acceptably in from descriptive text, narrative text, and analytical text to interact in daily context.

III. INDICATOR
a. Students are able to understand the meaning of specific vocabulary.
b. Students are able to identify specific information.
c. Students are able to describe something.

IV. OBJECTIVES
a. Having ability to understand the meaning of specific vocabulary.
b. Having ability to identify specific information.
c. Having ability to describe something.

VIII. INSTRUCTIONAL STEPS/ PROCEDURES

1.      Pre-activities
  • Greeting to the students.
  •  Check attendance list.
  • Ask the students’ condition.
  • Give small discussion to the students about the material.

2.      While activities
  •  Deliver the printed out pictures.
  • Show the slide of the picture one by one on the LCD.
  • For each picture, ask the students to guess where the person comes from.
  •  Ask the students randomly to identify the person on the picture.
  • Write the describing on the whiteboard; beware of some specific adjective they used.
  •  Asks student to write the new word that teacher write on the board to their vocabulary book.
  •  Ask students to make a group of three.
  •  Each group should write the detail information to describe the pictures and they also have to write the cultural feature.
  • When they have done it, ask them to exchange their writing to other group.
  • Ask each group to read the writing carefully.
  • One of the member groups read loudly the writing and he/she should give comment.
  • Ask students to collect the writing paper.

  • Give some advises and motivation to the students.
