Time Allocation                      : 1 meeting (2 x 40 minutes)
Skill                                         : Speaking

A. Standards Competence:
Reveals the meaning of transactional and interpersonal conversations short verbal simple to interact with their surroundings

B. Basic Competence:
·         Understand the meaning contained in transactional conversations to get things done in requesting an opinion
·         Understanding the meaning contained in the oral functional and simple short monologue accurately in a simple descriptive text

C.    Disclose the meaning contained in transactional conversations to get things done and interpersonal using a variety of simple spoken language accurately, and fluently to interact with their surroundings involve speech acts in asking, giving opinions,

D.    Objectives:
a. Students are able to respond the expressions of asking and giving opinions
b. Responding to expressions of praise
c. Responding to expressions of congratulations


E.     Indicators:
              The students are able to : a) Students are able to understand how to asking and giving opinion about something.
     b) Students are able to asking and giving opinion using the asking and giving expression.

F.     Method
·        Communicative Language Teaching (CTL)

G.    Materials:
a. Material interpersonal transactional and oral conversations which contain the following phrases:
1.      A: What do you think about our president SBY?
B: I think ... ...
2.      A: What's your opinion about our assignment Physics?
B: In my opinion it's much Easier Than We Had the assignment yesterday

H.    Teaching Learning Activity:
Pre Activity (10 minutes)
a.    The teacher greets the students in English and the students answer in English.
b.   The teacher ask a variety of matters relating to the student
c.    Discussing the difficult words and phrases used in text
While activity (60 minutes)
a. Students divide in 5 groups in each group contain 5 until 7 students.
b. Students make a role play based on the material
c. make comment based n the role play
d. Give oral and written responses to the phrase is heard.
Post Activity (110 minutes)
a. Asking the student difficulty in understanding these phrases in conversation and interpersonal transactional
b. Concludes the material
c.    Assign students to continue the exercises at home

I.       Exercise
 Activity 1
Make a role play using speech acts deny, ask for opinions, and give opinions.
Example: 
Situation: the class just finish Jun, Tom, and Ani have a little conwersation
 
Jun: Hi Tom, you look so happy.
Tom: Yes Jun, I just thinking about our score in physics examination. I think I can get better score
Jun : What's your opinion about our physics examination?
Tom: In my opinion it's much easier than we had the examination yesterday. What about you Ani?
Ani: I don't know I think my score is just so so, because I don't study yesterday.

suddenly their friend Syueb is through in front of them

Ani: Hi Syueb! where will you go?
Syueb: Hi Ani. I want to meet Mr. Budi to collect my assignment, because I forgot to bring it yesterday. bye everybody!
Ani, Jun, and Tom: bye!


At teacher room Syueb find Mr Budi is reading newspaper.

Syueb: Good afternoon sir. I want to collect my last assignment.
Mr.Budi: Good afternoon Syueb. Ok, put it on my desk.
Syueb: Thank you sir.
Mr Budi: Your welcome. Hmm, by the way Syueb, What's your opinion about our physics examination? is it too difficult?
Syueb: I think it is not really difficult sir, but I can not answer one question in number two
Mr. Budi: Ok Syueb, I will give your class a remedial because most of you get bad score. 

Activity 2
Other students give comment to the presenter.
Example:
  • I think your performance ha unpredictable ending
  • I think Ani doesn't express her feeling clearly.

Pronunciation: 30%
Fluency: 25%
Expression: 30%
Participation (giving comment) : 15%
