School : SMP Negeri 1 Bandarlampung
Class/ Semester : VIII/II
Aspect / skill : Listening and speaking
Time : 2x40 Minutes

Standard competence :
Understanding the sense of simple short transactional and interpersonal conversation to communicate in the nearest neighbour

Basic competence :
Responding the short transactional and interpersonal conversation accurately and fluently, extending and ending a conversation on the phone, giving an attention to the speaker

Objectives :
To help the students to be able to respond the short transactional and interpersonal conversation accurately and fluently, extending and ending a conversation on the phone, giving an attention to the speaker
Indicator : 

• Responding to a statement starting, extending and ending a conversation on the phone
• Giving attention to the speaker on the phone

Method : Audio Lingual Method


Teaching learning activities :
Pre-activities: (15 minutes)
- Greeting
- Checking the student’s attendance
- Extending the aim of study to the students

While-activities: (50 minutes)
- The teacher gives the students an effort to arouse their interest in the topic or presentation
- The teacher describes the situation or the content briefly
- The teacher plays the record (first listening)
- The teacher checks on the difficulties the students faced. Some words or structures may still be incomprehensible to the students so, the teacher should clarify it.
- The teachers plays the record (second listening)
- The teacher asks about significant expression, keywords, and phrases or structures to be learned
- Third listening
- The teacher asks original, informal question to test the comprehension

Post-activities: (15 minutes)
- Reviewing again the materials to make the students understand well
- Closing the class

Ruth : I am calling to tell you that we are going to go to Bali next holiday. Will you join us?
Lisa : Really, I would like to let me tell my parents first. I will tell you later
Ruth : All right. I wait for your call
Lisa : Thank for calling Ruth Bye

Devi : Hello Devi Speaking
Ratih : Hello. It is me Ratih. How are you?
Devi : Hi. I am fine. Conversing telling the aim of calling
Ratih : I am calling you to tell that our planning to go to Bandung will be cancelled because the weather is not good
Devi : are you?
Ratih : We will go as soon as possible
Devi : Ok, just let me know by calling me later
Ratih : Well. I call you later

Evaluation
The students are asked to do exercises below.

Listen carefully to the casssete and compete the dialogue below
Pearce: Hello, Pearce is speaking here,(1).................?

Michael : Well, not bad. Are you doing anything Sunday morning?
Susan : No, Nothing special. Why?
Michael : Umm…., do you feel like to go to the Kute beach?
Susan : Oh, that’s sounds like good.
Michael : What about going to KFC for having a pizza first?
Susan : Sure, where do you want to meet?
Michael : Why don’t I pick you up at your house?
Susan : OK. What time?
Michael : Is eight o’clock OK?
Susan : Well, see you then.
Michael : Alright. See you.

Scoryng system
The first exercise consists of 4 questions, each question scored 2,5 so, the maximum score is 10 (4x2,5=10) and the second consists of 5 questions, each question scored 2 so, the maximum score is 10 (5x2=10)
