I. STANDARD COMPETENCE

To express the meaning of monologue text, they are descriptive, narrative, anecdote, analytical exposition, and hortatory exposition, accurately, fluently, and acceptably in daily life context.


II. BASIC COMPETENCE

To express the meaning of monologue text accurately, fluently, and acceptably using descriptive, narrative, anecdote, analytical exposition, and hortatory exposition in the various spoken language.


III. INDICATORS

a) Students are able to understand how to describe person, thing, and place consist of shape, color, size, etc.

b) Students are able to describe something such as person, thing, and place in their daily life.

c) Students are able to analyze the characteristic of descriptive text.

d) Students are able to identify specific information.



IV. OBJECTIVES

a) Having ability to understand how to describe something.

V. MATERIAL

a) Give the information about:

· How to describe people, like pointed nose / flat nose, long hair / short hair, straight / curly hair, the shape of face, color of hair, color of eyes, job, skin color, birth mark, etc.

· How to describe thing, like the shape, color, size, function, etc.

· How to describe place, like the location, how far, what the place consist of, etc.

b) Simple description text.

I met Peter only a few days after I got here. He is wonderful, he is not very tall, about the same as me, rather slim, but he is really good looking. He works in the harbor, and he’s out in the sun so much, he is really brown, like an Italian, but his hair’s long and fair, and tidy. He takes great care with it and is very proud of it. It’s just his appearance, however. He’s also pleasant and attentive, a good talker and a good listener. We’re completely happy when we are together, and of course, we miss each other when we are not together.

Bantaeng (also known as bontain) 123 km from Ujung Pandang, is a makassarese boatbuilding center with a rich maritime history. The iPad is a tablet computer designed and developed by Apple. It is particularly marketed as a platform for audio and visual media such as books, periodicals, movies, music, and games, as well as web content. At about 1.5 pounds (680 grams), its size and weight are between those of most contemporary smart phones and laptop computers. Apple released the iPad in April 2010, and sold 3 million of the devices in 80 days. The Apple iPad has gained a 95% share of Tablet PC sales at the end of second quarter 2010. And during the second quarter 2010, Apple had sold 4.19 million iPads around the world. The iPad can run its own applications. Without modification, it will only run programs approved by Apple and distributed via its online store. The iPad is controlled by a multitouch display a break from most previous tablet computers, which used a pressure-triggered stylus. The iPad uses a Wi-Fi data connection to browse the Internet, load and stream media, and install software. Some models also have a 3G wireless data connection which can connect to GSM 3G data networks. The device is managed and synced by iTunes on a personal computer via USB cable. Media reaction to the device has generally been neutral or positive, with more positive reaction after the device was launched.

· The teacher checks the students’ attendance list.

· Give small discussion to the students about the material.


2) While Activity (65')

· The teacher explains all about description text.

· The teacher gives the students the example how to describe something orally.

· The teacher gives the students picture of person, or thing, or place and then asks the students to make describing about person, or thing, or place and the theme is about depend on the pictures.

· The teacher asks the students to descript person, or thing, or place with their chair mate.

· The teacher asks the students to present about describe person or thing or place in front of the class.

3) Post Activity (15')

· The teacher asks the students to collect their description paper.

· The teacher gives a chance to students to ask question.

· The teacher asks the student to practice a lot about how to describe something in home.

· Closing greeting.
