LESSON PLAN

School                         : SMPN 1 SEPUTIHRAMAN
Subject                        : English
Class/Semester            : VIII/first
Aspect/ skill                 : Writing
Type of Text                 : small functional texts and monolog
Time                            : 2x40 Minutes

Standard Competence  :  
Expressing of small functional  
texts and monolog in formed of Narratives, Spoof and Hortatory  
Exposition in daily life context and to access knowledge.

Basic Competence       :  
Expressing of the meaning and rhetorical stpes in essay 
accuratelly indaily life context and to access knowllegde in the  
formed of Narrative.

Indicators                     :  
- Identify the meaning of word in the text given 
- Identiy rhetorical of the text 
- Identify the communication purpose of the text
- to use tenses in writing skill 
- to create the such kinds of text

Objectives                    : 
- The students are able to identify the meaning of word in 
  the text given 
- The students are able to identiy rhetorical of the text 
- The students are able to identify the communication purpose of  
  the text 
- The students are able to grammar, vocabulary, punctuation,
  spelling, and chain writing accurately 
- The students are able to write main idea
- The students are able to make draft, to revise and to edit

Materials                                  :
Narrative          :
The social function of the text is to amuse, entertain and deal with actual or various experience in different ways. Narrative deals with the problematic events which are lead to a crisis or turning point of some kinds which in turn finds a resolution. Narrative text is designed to entertain or tell the story to the reader and listener.

Generic Structure of the text :
- Orientation                  : Introducing the characters of the story, where and when
  the story occurred.
- Complication               : How the problem starts until its crisis point (climax) of the
  problem, in which the character(s) have to face.
- Resolution                  : How the problem is solved or ended
- Re-orientation(optional): the ending of the story which may consist of closing
  remark to the story, moral value, and advice.
Modelling of Narrative text:
CINDERELLA
Once upon a time there was a girl called Cinderella. She lived with her stepsisters. They were very bossy. They made Cinderella do all the housework.

One day an invitation to the ball came to the family. Her stepsisters would not let her go. Cinderella was sad because she wanted to go to the ball too. Her stepsisters went to the ball without her.

Fortunately, the fairy Godmother came and helped her to get to the ball. At the ball, Cinderella dance with the prince. The prince fell in love with her then married her. They lived happily ever after.

Teaching Learning Activities    :  
1. Pre Activities 
- Greeting
- Checking the students attendance
- Giving some questions lead to the topic 

2. While Activities 
- The teacher explain the material about the narrative, the rhetorical of the  
  text, the communication purpose of the text and perform the modeling of 
  narrative text. 

- The teacher will give the performing example to the students by read 
  such kinds of narrative text. 

- Then the teacher will give the written text of narrative and asked the 
  students try to perform their reading ability by read the a narrative text. 

- Measures the students understanding relate to the text, the teacher  
  Asked some question relate to the text, identify the meaning of word and 
  the communication purpose of the text given.

- The next session is the teacher asked the students to identify 
  grammar, vocabulary, punctuation, spelling on the given text. 

- After that the teacher asked the student to create a grammatical  
  sentence by the identified word so that the teacher be able to see the
  writing perform of the students and give correction to their writing task. 

3. Post Activities 
- The teacher reviewing the material and asking about the problems during 
  the lesson. 
- Asked the students to create a narrative text 
- Close the activities by giving some suggestion, comment, and motivation
                       
Evaluation        :
            As the students evaluation the teacher will give the test to the students. The students have to create a narrative text by their own word then the teacher will observe the text, is there any incorrect grammatical sentence the students have to revise their writing. By this way the teacher are able to see the student’s performance in writing activities, is the students understand about the material or not, and their also be able to improve their writing skill by understanding the grammatical sentence and how the way to arrange a sentence correctly and grammatically. 

Assessment :

            Direction : They have to create a narrative text by their own words then the
      teacher will observe the text.
Scoring System :
Accuracy (30)
            Vocabulary (25)
            Coherency (30)
            Neatness (15)
Total Score : 100

IN MY OPINION, THE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IS BASED ON WHAT KINDS OF LEARNING SKILL THAT WE HAVE TO TEACH AND KINDS OF THE METHOD,, IN THIS METHOD I ONLY FOCUS ON THE WRITING SKILL WHICH WE HAVE KNOWN THAT IN WRITING SKILL WE DON'T HAVE MUCH INTERACTION BECAUSE IN WRITING SKILL THE TEACHER ONLY WANT TO KNOW THE ABILITY OF STUDENTS IN WRITING SKILL.........
